Who?

ARIADNEtechnat Master’s and Doc mentees, progam coordinator

DESCRIPTION

ARIADNEtechnat aims to bring together Master’s and Doc mentees for a joint networking event. Doc mentees act as approachable role models, as they have already taken the step that many Master’s mentees are currently considering. They can provide first-hand insights into the realities of pursuing a PhD, including both opportunities and challenges.

The event is designed as an informal Q&A session where Master’s students can openly ask doctoral candidates about their PhD experiences on an equal footing — personal, honest, and practice-oriented. For doctoral mentees, the format offers an opportunity to take on a mentoring role and support the next generation!

GOALS

  • Provide information and discuss different perspectives in an informal setting
  • Myth vs. reality: discussing common assumptions about pursuing a PhD
  • Networking & empowerment

HOW?

  • As a “stay in touch” option, a voluntary contact list will be available at the event to support further networking.
  • A suitable two-hour date for an in-person Q&A session during the lecture-free period will be coordinated in advance –> Survey during registration!
  • We’ll have an approximately 90-minute Q&A session – additional time is reserved afterwards for informal conversations and networking.
  • Questions will be collected beforehand to gain insight into the Master’s mentees’ interests and concerns. Participants should ask their questions directly during the event; live questions take priority, while pre-submitted questions serve as a backup.
